David T. TSE (USA)

Dr David T. Tse is the Professor of Ophthalmology and head of the Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbital Surgery and Oncology Service at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He currently holds the inaugural Dr Nasser Ibrahim Al-Rashid Distinguished Chair in Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbital Surgery and Oncology.

Dr Tse's clinical interests include the full spectrum of lacrimal, eyelid and orbital reconstructive surgeries due to disease or injury, as well as aesthetic and rejuvenative surgeries. His clinical research efforts center on innovative ways to treat extensive skin cancers and lethal orbital malignancies. In the laboratory, Dr Tse's efforts are directed at developing an animal model to assess the molecular and cellular sequelae of experimental traumatic optic nerve injury and to identify novel therapeutic strategies. His other area of research concentration is the identification of orbital tumor cell markers as prognostic indicators for targeted therapy.

He is a member of the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal. His writings include The Color Atlas of Ophthalmic Surgery: Oculoplastic Surgery, and over 100 scientific articles and 50 book chapters. He was a director of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and Dr Tse's oculoplastic peers named him to the Woodward/White's The Best Doctors in America and included him among America's Top Doctors.
