Fung-Rong HU (Chinese Taipei)

Professor Fung-Rong Hu is the Professor of Ophthalmology at National Taiwan University, College of Medicine and the Chief of the Corneal Section at the National Taiwan University Hospital since 1998. She received her Ophthalmology residency training at the National Taiwan University Hospital and corneal fellowship training at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.

Professor Hu had served as the Chair of Department of Ophthalmology, National Taiwan University Hospital, Vice Superintendent of National Taiwan University Hospital, and President of the Ophthalmological Society of Taiwan. She is currently the President of Taiwan Academy of Ophthalmology (TAO). Professor Hu has extensive research experience in pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of corneal diseases. Professor Hu’s clinical and research achievements are highly respected in the international ophthalmic community.

Professor Hu has received many awards including the most Distinguished Service Awards, Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness Award and Achievement Award from Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, Asia Cornea Foundation Medalist Lecture (Asia) Award from Asia Corneal Society. Her achievements have earned her a membership of Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis (AOI) in 2016.
