Dr Jose Pulido is a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He has served as the head of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois and was honored as the Chief Resident. He had two fellowships, the first at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida as well as an ocular oncology fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Pulido is currently involved in a research grant on vaccine treatment of melanomas by causing autoimmunity. He was a part of the original retinal prosthesis work and developed the ganciclovir and rituximab ocular toxicity studies. He has published more than 225 scientific papers and chapters as well as three books.
