Lin-Chung WOUNG (Chinese Taipei)

Prof. Dr. Woung is currently the deputy superintendent for Taipei City Hospital, a Councilor at Large of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, a Council Member of Asia Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society, an Executive Director of the Ophthalmological Society of Taiwan, an Executive Director of Taiwan Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, and a Supervisor of Taiwan Academy of Ophthalmology. He has taken on key positions in the Ophthalmologic Society in Taiwan for more than 20 years since he served as the director of society from 1993.

Prof. Dr. Woung is a professor in National Yang-Ming University accredited by the Ministry of Education Taiwan. He had been giving classes in many schools including the College of Medicine of National Taiwan University.

Academically, he is the recruiter for the Editorial & Publication Committee of the Ophthalmologic Society of Taiwan, the chief editor of the Taiwan Journal of Ophthalmology and the Taipei City Medical Journal, He has been the reviewer of the Journal of Asian Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the Journal of Ophthalmology...etc. He was also the vice president of Asian Neuro-Ophthalmology Society for 2008 as well as the Congress President of the 31st Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO 2016).

He keeps a companionable relationship with all of the above organizations and his support and dedication to the Ophthalmology Society in Taiwan is beyond question and has won him the Distinguished Service Award of APAO 2010, the Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness Award of APAO 2011, the ICO Mark Tso Golden Apple Award 2017, and the Special Achievement Award of Chinese Ophthalmological Society 2017.
