Lingyi LIANG (China)

Dr. Lingyi Liang is currently a professor of ophthalmology of the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-Sen University. She is a founding member of Asia Dry Eye Society, a committee member of Chinese Dry Eye Society, and a committee member of Joint Academic Association of Chinese and Russian Medical University. Dr. Liang obtained her M.D. and Ph.D. degree at Sun Yat-sen University. During Nov. 2007 and Dec. 2008, she studied as a clinical visiting scholar and fellow in the Ocular Surface Center, Ocular Surface Research and Education Foundation in Miami, USA. As a PI, she has obtained 16 funding support, including those from the National Natural Science Foundation. As the first author or corresponding author, Dr. Liang has published 20 academic papers in SCI journals, including NEJM, Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, AJO, BJO, etc. Dr. Liang is a reviewer of peer review journals such as American Journal of Ophthalmology, PlosONE, etc. Dr. Liang’s primary research interest has been the pathogenesis and treatment of ocular surface diseases. Two major focus of her research have been ocular demodicosis and dry eye. Other research projects include mesenchymal stem cells transplantation for severe inflammatory ocular surface diseases, pterygium, ocular surface reconstruction and corneal transplantation. She is also experienced in medical education.
