Seng Kheong FANG (Malaysia)

Dr Fang is Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma specialist at the International Specialist Eye Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He graduated with an MBBS from the University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 1986. He obtained a Masters of Surgery in Ophthalmology at the National University of Malaysia in 1994. He was the Clinical Fellow in Glaucoma Department of Ophthalmology, Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney under Dr Ivan Goldberg in 1995.

He was Consultant Ophthalmologist in Hospital Kuala Lumpur and headed the Glaucoma service between 1995 and 1999. Then he was Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist at the Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital from 1999 to May 2007.

Since 2012, he has served as Honorary Secretary of Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society. He has been President of Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology since 2013. Dr Fang was the recipient of the Distinguished Service award from APAOA (Asia Pacicfic Academy of Ophthalmology) in 2007 and the Asian Angle Closure Glaucoma Club in 2009. He has also been a member of the IMAGE Asia Pacific Glaucoma Advisory Board since its inception. He was elected Council member of the APAO in 2010 and was the Regional Secretary representing Malaysia. Since 2013, he has served as Chairman of the Young Ophthalmologist Standing Committee of the APAO. He has been a Board member of ASEAN Ophthalmology Society since 2013. He currently sits on the Editorial board of the International Glaucoma Review of the World Glaucoma Association, Asian Journal of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Surgery News APAO Edition and EyeWorld Asia Pacific.
