Shwu-Jiuan SHEU (Chinese Taipei)

Prof. Shwu-Jiuan Sheu is currently chief of ophthalmology at Kaohsiung Veterans Hospital in Taiwan and professor at National Yang-Ming University and National Defense Medical University in Taipei.

Prof. Sheu graduated from Kaohsiung Medical University in 1984. She completed her residency and proceeded to attain fellowships in ophthalmology at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan, in 1989 and the Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California, USA, in 1992.

Her membership in ophthalmological societies and editorial boards includes the following: Taiwan Ophthalmological Society, American Retinal Society, Taiwan Retinal Society, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, International Ocular Inflammation Society, Taiwan Journal of Ophthalmology and Journal of Ocular Inflammation and Immunology.

Her research interests include vitreoretinal disease diagnosis and treatment, uveitis and retinal cell biology. She is known for her dedication to scientific research and has publications on vitreoretinal disease, cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, uveitis and related laboratory topics.
